After another lackluster episode of “Middle Aged Women Gone Wild” aka “The Real Housewives of New York” and an appearance on #WWHL last night which fueled a Twitter battle with Dorinda Medley, Heather Thompson has had enough. Heather spoke to Us Magazine exclusively below:
A source close to the Bravo soap confirms the news in the latest issue of Us, revealing that the budding businesswoman wants to spend more time working on her business and spending time with her family.
“She wants to focus full-time on her business, Yummie, her family, and expanding into the health and nutrition arena,” the source reveals.
Thomson’s role on the show has changed since she signed on three years ago, and she doesn’t want to be involved anymore. “The cons of doing the show far outweigh the pros at this point, and what the show has become don’t fit what she wants to be doing,” the insider adds. “She did it to promote her business and it devolved into ridiculous fights over the ridiculous antics of some unstable women.”
This season, the shapewear purveyor’s story lines have revolved around her fighting with costars Bethenny Frankel and Dorinda Medley, and Thomson has decided it’s time to step away from the drama.
“She did the show to promote her business and later to be with her best friend, Carole Radziwill, and didn’t expect it to end up with fighting with Bethenny and Sonja [Morgan] and the rest edited out,” the source dishes. “It is no longer a good fit with where she sees her life going so she is making the choice to walk away.”
The Real Housewives of New York City airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo.

Heather is a savvy businesswoman and has watched Bethenny Frankel’s empire decline due to her horrible public persona. Bethenny’s return to #RHONY this season has only further turned people further against the one-time Reality TV favorite. Heather doesn’t want the same to happen to her Yummie brand. With several fights with Frankel, Dorinda Medley, and Countess Luann under her belt this season, Heather’s image has taken a beating! Her exit is a smart business strategy to regain her social media popularity and to avoid the pitfalls of Bravo induced drama. Good job Heather!
