Looks like our TV sets will have the opportunity to shudder uncontrollably, when “American Crime: The People Vs. OJ Simpson” airs on FX. Someone who is not looking forward to the Ryan Murphy production? #RHOBH Kyle Richards BFF and Simpson case insider Faye Resnick! Darling Faye would love America to forget her involvement with Simpson and his murdered wife Nicole Brown, but that is as unlikely as her ever gaining permanent status on Real Housewives.
Faye Resnick infamously testified in court during the 1995 trial that the former football player had told her he was going to kill Nicole. She had been staying with O.J.’s ex-wife at her Brentwood condo in 1994 and moved out just four days before the brutal killings that took place there. Faye and Nicole Brown Simpson had known each other for several years and socialized together in and around the upscale Brentwood neighborhood on LA’s west side. Faye was an admitted cocaine addict who participated in a number of rehab and treatment programs in the early 1990s. She was accused of cashing in on her friendship with Nicole following her death by publishing a book Nicole Brown Simpson: The Private Diary of a Life Interrupted, co-written with a reporter from the National Enquirer. During O.J.’s murder trial, the defense lawyers wanted to put her on the stand to bolster one theory of the killings – that Nicole and Ron had been killed by drug dealers owed money by Faye. The Dream Team alleged Nicole had been mistaken for Faye.Faye, in turn, said Nicole had confided in her about the domestic abuse she suffered at O.J.’s hands and she had twice heard the Heisman Trophy winner threaten to kill Nicole.
You gotta love it when old coke whores try to put on airs and act like they are members of Beverly Hills high society. Faye Resnick now wants us to consider her a gifted interior designer who’s work looks like Z.Gallerie on crack. Have you seen the inside of Kyle Richard’s home? Nuff said.
In today’s “The Dish” on bravotv.com more details for the TV movie were released including comments by Kyle Richards.
This February fans will get an inside look at the infamous O.J. Simpson case whenAmerican Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson premieres on FX. The true-crime mini series, from the mind of Ryan Murphy, will chronicle the 1995 murder trial of the former football star for the death of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman. It was a trial that held everyone’s attention and Murphy’s small-screen adaptation isn’t short on star power. For the series, Murphy assembled an all-star cast, including Sarah Paulson as Marcia Clark, David Schwimmer as Robert Kardashian, John Travolta as Robert Shapiro, Courtney B. Vance as Johnnie Cochran, and Cuba Gooding, Jr. as O.J. Simpson. Did we forget to mention that Connie Britton will appear as Real Housewives of Beverly Hills pal Faye Resnick (who was also friends with Nicole prior to her death)?
With only a couple months until the premiere, we got Kyle Richards to weigh in on the casting.
“My first thought was I don’t understand it,” Kyle told The Daily Dish at an event for Wags and Walks, an organization saving the lives of dogs, held at Kyle by Alene Too over the weekend. “She’s a good actress. She’s a good choice.” However, there was someone else, she thinks could have taken the part before Connie. “Sometimes people think Denise Richards looks like Faye so maybe she could have played it,” Kyle revealed.
And while buzz surrounding the series is high, Kyle isn’t sure that Faye will have it on her DVR. “I don’t think Faye wants to watch. It’s very painful for her,” she said. “It will be too hard for her to watch but I am going to watch it for sure.”-Reporting by Paul Zahn
